Kertan Society is split into two distinct parts, there are those that dwell in the northernmost regions. They live and survive much like mountain-men or rangers. They assist those and expect very little in return other than the satisfaction that they have aided those in need. Those in the north are sociable, they are isolated not by choice but by the harsh mountainous terrain of Kerta. They are willing to talk and even play with those who stumble into them, and will never refuse food, aid, a bed to rest in or directions to any lost traveller. Their land is very fractured and alternates between frozen lakes, clumps of trees and small amounts of frozen plain.
